About Ayurvedic treatments
- Ayurveda meaning science of Life is derived out of two Sanskrit words, Ayu meaning life and Veda meaning the knowledge thereof. Ayurveda recognizes the fact that the universe comprises of five eternal elements and that the human body is also composed of these 5 elements, space, air, fire, water and earth. These elements in the environment have therefore an influence on human bodies. These elements combine to create certain physiological functions.
- Space and Air combine together to form what is known as ‘Vata Dosha’, Fire and Water to form ‘Pitha Dosha’ and Water and earth to form’ Kapha Dosha’. Unique proportions of these three ‘doshas’ are found in all human beings. These doshas vary in each individual and therefore Ayurveda identifies each person as a unique mixture of these three ‘doshas’ and thereby design treatment protocols that specifically addresses each individuals health condition. When any of these doshas( Vata,Pitha,Kapha or ‘tridosha’) become accumulated, Ayurveda suggests specific remedial measures to assist the individual in reducing the ‘dosha’ and thereby controlling the vitiated conditions. Ayurveda also offers a unique cleansing process called ‘Panchakarma’ therapy to eliminate the excessive toxins in the human body.
